The RWTH Aachen University, in collaboration with Ruhr-Universität Bochum and Technische Universität Darmstadt, is conducting a Collaborative Research Centre (CRC/TRR
129) project titled "Development of methods and models to describe solid fuel reactions within an Oxy-Fuel atmosphere." A core objective of CRC/TRR 129 is to develop and publish "Oxy-Sim129," a universal numerical simulation tool based on large-eddy simulation (LES) within the OpenFOAM (field operation and manipulation library) framework. In addition, a computationally less expensive simulation tool based on the Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes (RANS) equations (hereinafter called Oxy-RANS) is also under development.Updated
