Add ID to figure / file metadata

Related to #80 (closed) we need to think about how we can "generally" add the ID to a figure's/ picture's metadata.

Considering we plan to support multiple plot engines, as well as plain files, we either need a solution that works for all cases, or we need to implement a case for each case (increasing the work to implement a new engine).
