How does PlotID fit into encompassing rdm solutions?

The current state of plotID is an independent solution that helps connect figures with the data and code that produced them, by packing them together in a folder to be published together.

If code and data are versioned and controlled with rdm principles or software already, how can plotID redirect /reference the versioned code and data publications / repositories that stem from these solutions?

  • git with repositories for software
  • Data repositories?
  • Git-Annex (and compatible like DataLad) for data?

• How can an interface for this look like?

• How would this reference be saved?
