Include iiRDS
iiRDS (intelligent information Request and Delivery Standard) is a non-proprietary, open-source standard for the delivery and exchange of smart content. It can be used, for example, to deliver technical documentation, data sheets, service information, and other document types in a machine-readable format including machine-readable metadata in RDF.
iiRDS includes the definition of the exchange format itself and a standardized metadata vocabulary. This enables applications to process documentation content from different suppliers and to integrate contents based on a common vocabulary. iiRDS supports:
- Cross-manufacturer delivery and aggregation of technical documentation and information
- Efficient processing of information delivery in a modular and format-neutral way
- Targeted access to content
- Semantic search and filtering based on common metadata
The standard consists of two main components:
- A package format which defines the file structure of the delivered content and the metadata associated with that content.
- A metadata model (in RDFS) for the domain of technical communication. This metadata model in RDFS can serve as the basis for enriching the documentation content with metadata.
The current version is iiRDS 1.1 and can be found here:
