- Discussed the status of the cooperation K71, current status is:
1. Data provided by Shumali:
* Droplet position at t=0 is the already sliding droplet.
* Droplet centroid velocity and velocity at the front and at the rear side of the drop.
* Receding and advancing contact angle at the above mentioned positions.
* Droplet 2D contour at all time steps during sliding.
2. Status at B01:
* Simulation test case has been setup.
3. Challenges at B01:
* Initialization of the 3D droplet that is already sliding (as this is the starting position provided).
* Errors in initialization (errors in the volume fraction) lead to volume fractions with small oscillations, we compute curvature (second derivative) from such erroneous volume fraction field and, our simulations may crash.
4. Future steps discussed:
- [ ] Shumaly will provide the droplet data (velocity, position and contour) before it hits the substrate i.e. before sliding.
- [ ] Shumaly will have two experimental setups:
* Droplet sliding without the obstacle
* Droplet sliding with the obstacle
- [ ] Hassan will setup the 2D sliding droplet
- [ ] Hassan will look into surface evolver software for initialization of the non-symmetrical droplet.
- [ ] As we get the updated case result's data, and the initialization can be done, we can start 3D simulation for sliding droplet.
